Day 10 - New World Record

Just for all you die hard fans out there (that especially means you Karen!!!) we thought we should put up a post to let you all know....drum roll please....that Tristan did it!!!! He arrived at Cottesloe Beach 9 days 9 hours and 17 minutes after he left Bondi Beach last Tuesday!!! He shaved a good 14 hours and 13 minutes off the old record. He totalled 4064.85 kilometres across. The biggest day he had was 490km. And this guy was supposed to have a torn muscle!?!? I promise to update the site properly over the weekend. It could take some time as there are lots of photos to show you all. Internet access was most definitely sparse coming across and even if it was available, we didn't have the time!! I hope everyone was checking the SKM site for progress updates. We were certainly being pestered by many SKM strangers calling us along the way...when we had phone reception that was! But PHEWF... after a 2am start I think its time for a powernap.... a REALLY big powernap. What's the bet Tristan has already fallen asleep in the bath!!!?

This is the thread I posted on Runner's World forum in the UK:

I've split it into chunks so just glue the whole thing back together without spaces!

The photos are coming. I've had some trouble with them and a lack of time. But aha! Today I've had some success. They won't all be up at once...but slowly and surely the pictures for each day will be posted!

    Congratulations Tristan.

I've cycled across the country 5 times but I've done it a little slower. My biggest single day on any of the crossings has been 203 km and I have normally taken between 4 and 5 weeks for the crossing.
